The Honeywell Home 5809SS offers expanded fire detection with the flexibility of wireless installation — no wires to run, and a fast, easy install. It's ideal for hard-to-wire locations and applications that call for more than smoke detection alone.

The 5809SS combines two layers of protection in one device: a built-in fixed-temperature sensor that triggers an alarm if the surrounding temperature rises above 135°F, and a rate-of-rise sensor that detects the rapid temperature increases typical of a fire, signaling an alarm if the temperature climbs 15°F or more per minute.

The 5809SS is UL Listed (UL 521) and CSFM approved for both commercial and residential applications.

• Built-in transmitter sends alarm, supervisory, and battery condition messages to the system's receiver/control unit
• Powered by a 3V lithium battery; automatically sends a low-battery signal to the control panel when voltage runs low
• Tamper switch sends a trouble signal to the control panel if the unit is removed from its mounting base
