The
ST188 series of multipair protectors provides protection utilizing a
110 style connector. Various options are available within this
series of protectors; including cable stub (ST188B1/BC1), splice
chamber (ST188 ECA1) and 110 (ST188 110/C110).
This series of units are intended as primary
protectors for communications equipment and circuits which are
exposed to harmful transient voltage surges and sneak currents
which are introduced onto the telecommunications line by AC
induction, direct power crosses, and lightning.
The protection unit consists of a rugged
powder epoxy coated metal housing,
protection field, and incoming/outgoing cross connect field. Line
protection is provided through an industry standard 5 pin protector
modules (sold separately).
