The CamSplice Mechanical Splice incorporates a unique, patented fiber alignment method that self-centers the fibers and provides extremely accurate alignment. Average “blind” (non-tuned) splice loss for the CamSplice Mechanical Splice is specified at 0.15 dB with a minimum loss less than 0.3 dB. There is only one part for 250/250 μm, 250/900 μm or 900/900 μm applications (one size fits all). 

The CamSplice Mechanical Splice requires minimal training and few accessories to assemble. The assembly process involves stripping and cleaving fibers, inserting the fibers into the splice part until they touch and turning the cams to secure the fibers. 

The process does not involve any adhesives or special tools, although an optional assembly fixture is recommended. A typical installation takes less than two minutes. A compact, self-contained tool kit is available with standard tools including the optional assembly fixture. Completed splices fit in Corning Cable Systems splice trays as well as industry-standard splice trays.

Corning Cable Systems CamSplice Assembly Fixture 

This assembly fixture is designed to assist the assembly process of Corning Cable Systems CamSplice mechanical splice. (P/N: 95-000-04).

CamSplice can be assembled with or without this fixture. With this fixture the process is made easy and produces more consistent results. If you do many splices with CamSplice then this tool is a good investment.

This tool is included in Corning Cable Systems TKT-100-01 and TKT-100-02 tool kit.
